This Privacy Policy explains how WildVisor (“WildVisor”, “we”) handles your personal data
when you use the WildVisor mobile app and the wildvisor.pro website (together, the “Service”).
WildVisor is a wildlife and plant observation app available worldwide.
Account: email, display name, birth year (age verification), sign-in
method (email, Google or Apple).
Sightings: photos you capture, identified species, notes, perceived
habitat and observed behavior, date and time.
Location: sighting coordinates and, when you allow it, your approximate
location for proximity alerts and to center the map. Location is requested “while using
the app”.
Usage and device: app version, device model, operating system, language
and crash/diagnostic data.
Subscription: plan status (free/Pro) and purchase-receipt validation. We
do not store card data; payments are handled by Apple App Store and Google Play.
3. Photo metadata removal
Before a photo is uploaded, we strip EXIF geolocation metadata. The sighting location is
handled as separate structured data and, for threatened species, blurred (~10 km) in any public
view.
4. Device permissions
Camera: to capture sightings.
Location: to geolocate sightings, show proximity alerts and center the map.
Photos/storage: to select existing images.
Notifications: for proximity alerts and community updates.
You can revoke these permissions anytime in your device settings.
5. Purposes and legal bases (GDPR)
Provide the Service (identification, map, alerts, community) — contract performance.
User safety (alerts and SOS) — legitimate and, where applicable, vital interest.
Age verification and protection of minors — legal obligation and legitimate interest.
Improving the Service and preventing abuse/fraud — legitimate interest.
Launch and marketing communications — consent (revocable).
6. Artificial intelligence
Species identification runs wholly or partly via an AI model on your device. AI is an aid and
can be wrong: we always show the confidence level, and the information does not replace expert
judgment or professional medical/emergency advice.
7. Who we share data with
Technology providers: Google Firebase (authentication, notifications,
crash diagnostics), hosting and map providers, acting as processors.
iNaturalist / GBIF: we display third-party open biodiversity data; your
personal data is not shared with them unless you publish content openly.
Apple / Google: process purchases and subscriptions.
Aggregated, anonymized data may be published for research and conservation
(CC-BY-NC license). You may opt out of this use.
We do not sell your personal or location data, and we do not perform cross-app tracking.
8. International transfers
WildVisor operates worldwide; your data may be processed outside your country. When we
transfer data outside the EEA/UK, we apply appropriate safeguards (Standard Contractual Clauses
or other valid mechanisms).
9. Retention and deletion
We keep your data while your account is active. You can delete your account from Settings;
your data is deleted or anonymized within a maximum of 30 days, unless legal retention applies.
See our Account Deletion page.
10. Your rights
Depending on your jurisdiction (GDPR in the EU/UK, CCPA/CPRA in California, LGPD in Brazil),
you have the rights to access, rectify, erase, restrict or object, to data portability, and to
withdraw consent. California users may exercise the rights to know, delete and opt out of
sale/sharing. To exercise them: eturingcorp@gmail.com. You may also
lodge a complaint with your supervisory authority.
11. Minors
WildVisor is not directed to children under 13 and does not allow their registration. Users
aged 13–17 have a restricted profile by default: no targeted ads, no direct messaging and no
public feed.
12. Security
We use encryption in transit (TLS) and at rest, secure on-device credential storage and access
controls. No system is 100% infallible, but we work to protect your information following
industry best practices.
13. Changes
We may update this Policy. We will post the current version on this page with its update date
and, for material changes, notify you.
